Orange County Stroke Rehabilitation Network February 15, 2012 RE: Invitation to set up a table at the 2012 Stroke Awareness Picnic Dear Provider of Stroke-Related Services and Programs: I’m writing to invite you to set up a table at a picnic that targets stroke survivors and their families. The Orange County Stroke Rehabilitation Network (OCSRN) provides a forum for learning, discussion, and interaction with colleagues—all revolving around stroke rehabilitation. The group consists persons who play a role in stroke rehabilitation coming together to educate, share discuss, and collaborate. We are currently planning our third annual Orange County Stroke Rehabilitation Network "Stroke Awareness Picnic," to take place on Saturday, May 5, 2012 ("Stroke Awareness Month") at UC Irvine, on the main campus, in Irvine, from 11am–2pm. This event will provide a chance for discussion, interaction, and a pleasant picnic, all revolving around stroke. All persons involved with stroke are invited: persons with stroke, their friends and caregivers and families, therapists, nurses, physicians, researchers, and providers of stroke related services. Attendance at last year’s picnic was >200 persons. To learn more about the OCSRN and to view pictures from last year, visit www.ocsrn.com You are invited to use this picnic as an opportunity to tell patients and the stroke community about your stroke-related service, resource, goods, or program. If you wish to do so, please email us at stroke@uci.edu (with email-subject "Display at Stroke Picnic"). We will provide you with a table at the picnic for you to display information about your stroke-related service/program. You will also have an opportunity to take 2 min at the microphone and share a presentation about your service/program. Participation is free, but we are requesting a donation if possible. Funds are needed to cover food, tables & chairs, audio equipment, parking fees, etc. Thus, a donation is not required but would help us keep this going. If you would like to donate, please send a check (addressed to UC Regents) at the above location. Thank you for your consideration of our request, and we look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Also, please share this flyer with anyone interested. Hope to see you there!
